The First

.

… of the many forthcoming articles with lousy titles. heh

.

So, I guess I’m now in charge of this shindig.

I tried this whole fan site thing before and if you’ve been keeping track of Jen’s posts you’d know how my first attempt turned out. MCO still exists, but I really have not been able to fix it or maintain it the way I should. Hopefully this new gig will yield a better result.

To start off, I will try to work on a new banner today. And perhaps add some more features to make your visit here more worthwhile. I didn’t have sufficient time to familiarize myself with the site because, apparently, Jen is already at her wits end with the cleaning, moving and all that, and hence, orientation is simply out of the question.

Anywayz, I hope y’all continue to drop by and keep me company and we can all try to keep track of Michael Castro’s burgeoning career.

The first stop is this “little show called American Idol”. In a few days, we will finally be able to watch Michael’s audition which, based on the rumors and the ever-strong-faith-of-the-Creepers-on-Michael’s-ability, went really well.

A news program (was it on Fox?) showed us a clip of Jason and Michael on the waiting room during the AI audition stop at Kansas. It’s no wonder those commercials are called “teasers”, coz that short clip certainly has a lot of people counting the days to the start of the AI Season Eight.

I already have information on what Michael’s audition song was. For the sake of those who prefer to suffer the agonizing wait, (or enjoy the building excitement- really depends on how you look at it.) I will not mention the song title. However, those who wish to be in on this not-so-big-secret may simply go here and ask.

Or you can ask Ashley or Melissa, because I’m pretty darn sure they know. 😀

Some Notes…

…before I go.

As what I had been saying in the last couple of posts, I am turning over the blog to someone who will hopefully have more available time than me. This week has been crazy and I confess that I haven’t been able to keep track of the new MCas stuff. Anyway, starting tomorrow, my friend DJ will be in charge here. Yes, DJ, the same person that I had mentioned several times before. She started the first blog about Michael which was Michael Castro Online. Due to some technical problem with her page, the contents of that blog were transferred to my blog.

After some discussion on the appropriateness of the title of my blog to the whole direction of the site, DJ offered this site to me and since then, it has been the home of the “all things MCas.”

When the unexpected opportunity for me to move to a new and beautiful home came up, I knew keeping this site will be very difficult. I did not anticipate this to happen this early as I did not expect the house to be available for the six months.

But I know that this site will be in good hands. And although it took some serious begging and pleading, DJ finally agreed to take over the administration. Several people had contacted me to offer their help and to babysit the site while I was away, but I really felt that since DJ had started the whole thing at MCO, it was only proper that I try to ask her first. Thank goodness she said yes.

I don’t know if she’d want her Dreadhead or Castronaut name posted here, so I’d rather not mention it. But I can tell you one thing, she is a Creeper and certainly not one of the bandwagonners who are coming out of every corner lately.

I may not be able to post until our move is done, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank D, and all the lovely people who answered my announcement and sent their messages and offered to help with the management of the site. Thank you Nathalie, Paula, Lian and the others who requested not to be named. To all of you, thanks for your generosity. I know you will have a fab time working together.

And D, I know you asked me to change the banner before I go, but you are so much better than me in that department. ;-).

Good luck!

And now after reading my blabs, why not drop by here? And play his music while you’re there!

Michael Castro Music

After a long, agonizing wait, we finally heard him sing. Michael has added a song to his MySpace music account.

It’s been 9 months since he burst into the public consciousness. After finding out that Jason Castro had a little brother, the first question was the obvious “Is he hot?”, followed by the somewhat mandatory “Can he also sing?”

The questions became louder many times over, as soon as news that he had auditioned for the upcoming season of America Idol came out.

The first question is a no brainer. If you look at the meaning of “hotness” on the dictionary, you’ll see the word “Michael.” (uhm.. yeah… I made this one up.) But seriously, Michael is muy guapo. That, at least, is uncontested.

While one song is probably not sufficient to come to a conclusion as to his chances on the competition, it definitely gives us an idea on what he sounds like and what kind of music he is going to bring to the Idol stage.

I have been listening to the song non-stop for the past hour. Whether I think he is good or not is immaterial as of the moment. As far as this Creeper is concerned, this is a very important day. We finally heard Michael sing.

Big bro, Jason Castro, on a couple of occasions, had stated that Michael was the better singer. That issue may never be resolved. It is safe to say though that they sound alike, and yet so different. Listen to his player and you’ll get what I mean.

But ultimately, the only question that matters now is whether or not he survived Hollywood enroute to the Top 36. Does the existence of this Music page indicate a positive outcome of his Idol stint? Did he make it after all? Were the spoilers inaccurate?

It’s hard to say, really. We’ll have to wait and see. But for now, it is my opinion that he deserved the ticket to Hollywood.

Michael can sing. Yes, this girl thinks This Boy can sing.

Haters to the left.

Garland Show

(reposted from Michael Castro Online)

Our favorite daydreaming boy, Jason Castro, performed at a Christmas show with Patty La Belle in his hometown last December. The Heavy Steadies backed Jason up for the second time, the Tulsa gig being the first.

Several Dreadheads, MCas Creepers included, attended the show and the meet and greet event with Jason at the local Barnes and Noble the following day. Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the show. Booooooo. Real life gets in the way sometimes; and busy people like me just have to learn to suck it up.

Anyway, some people who were lucky (and bold enough) to approach the younger Castro, asked him about American Idol. As expected, Michael was very careful with his responses (darn that confidentiality clause!)

Rumors have been circulating that he was cut in the Hollywood round *insert sad face 😦 here.* BUT…… when asked whether he was returning to school next year, he didn’t say YES, instead he gave a smile and made some funny faces. A NO for an answer would have been more encouraging, but, heyyy… he didn’t say YES. He could have, you know. But he didn’t. That means there is still a chance, no matter how little, that he made it beyond the Hollywood round!

Of course we will not find out until January when the new season begins, but till then… let’s just enjoy all the Michael pics floating around!
